Even better, which we highly recommend, ... use our Sani-Klo device (i.e. plastic vessel) and simply insert into the cistern and place the cistern block into it. This device makes the block last much longer than expected which could be anything between 6 to 12 weeks ... obviously flush dependent. Personally, we're on week 10 in our household and there is still no sign of it finishing :)! Expect about 4 to 5 weeks without the device ... flush dependent.
